The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that attracts so many people into the NFL

That result could have created opportunities for the New England Patriots to creep back into a leading position they formerly held, with a remaining games that gives them an advantage over their eight and two competitors

Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation next week, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the MVP award

Analysis - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen try too much or could it simply have been a poor performance for Buffalo?

Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Buffalo team to address

The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against Miami but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and display

MVP Josh Allen only achieved the team's initial first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - yes the Dolphins had ten days to prepare but it was still a massive egg laid by one of the league's top offences

Tua Tagovailoa passed for two touchdowns but running back Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns

Bottling up the NFL's top running game was crucial too, with James Cook and company recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard average

Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his final quarter fumble that the Dolphins turned into seven points just later

It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad from the situation - rather than the composed, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this season

The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the top of the AFC East

In Focus - Patriots See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Regarding the New England, they're among three eight and two squads in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but could they be the top team?

One could find flaws in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their total 24 wins achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Indianapolis beating the Denver

Denver defeated the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's victory in Tampa to their primtime win in Buffalo seems like a declaration

Their two defeats came in new head coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven straight wins, similar to the Broncos, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was huge

Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he certainly deserves point for bravery after taking some savage hits in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to guide his side to victory

The defensive unit is solid and first-year running back Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22mph this season on his first score

Although you can argue who 'the best' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the best record thanks to their schedule - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, although a huge one against the Bills

Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for first place but encounter the same problem) and also the Packers on the schedule

The Colts also face the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There is a long way to go but the opportunity is available for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Showdown

Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three eight and two teams are National Football Conference West rivals the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who each put up forty points to go to 7-2 ahead of next week's Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in Los Angeles

They've both won four in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a contest

Each could realistically be undefeated as too - particularly the Rams as their pair of losses came in overtime against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning field goal with the last kick blocked and run back by the Eagles for a touchdown

The Seahawks were also defeated to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're truly two of the top teams in the league

The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the year to date

Top Performer - Taylor

Taylor might be on for a historic year after his incredible display in Berlin - rushing for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and contributing an additional forty-two {receiving yards
