Salah Issues Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that Salah expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the controversy from his televised remarks.
The Fallout
Salah was left out from a European match subsequent to making accusations and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also noted that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I get that there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
Their results have been impressive in the games following the situation. Jones believes the forward's comments were not intended to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and on a positive run.”
